Gabriela Villamizar is a legal assistant at the Law Offices of Shamieh, Shamieh & Ternieden, focused on guiding individuals and families with empathy and clarity throughout their immigration journey in the United States. She works across a range of immigration matters and has a particular passion for removal defense cases, where she navigates complex situations with care and attention to detail, helping clients feel prepared and supported as their cases move forward.
Gabriela is a Colombian attorney who earned her law degree from the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia, graduating with honors and completing an academic emphasis in constitutional and human rights law. Her interest in immigration law began when she lived in France, where, as an immigrant herself navigating the complexities of the immigration system, she developed a strong commitment to working in this field. She also volunteered in London, United Kingdom, with an organization dedicated to distributing food to people in need, which further reinforced her passion for helping others.
Outside of her professional work, Gabriela enjoys a good cup of Colombian coffee alongside her cat, as well as discovering new places and cultures. She has traveled to 15 countries and hopes to continue expanding this list as she explores more of the world.
